Hazel Mack

February 28, 1924 — October 21, 2014

Waynesville, Hazel Malinda McGaha Mack, age 90, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Born in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Burl and Ethel Nelson McGaha. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Carlos Mack, who died in 1990; two sisters, Zeomia Rich, Mary Ann Robbins; and brothers, Richard, Gene, Robert and Wade McGaha. Hazel loved to sew and grow flowers and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She also enjoyed meeting new people and loved Cataloochee Valley. Hazel is survived by two sons, Ronald Ray Mack and his wife, Jerri Anderson, of Lenoir and Roy Phil Mack and his wife, Jannette, of Hickory; three sisters, Ruth Rich of Clyde, Lucille Garland, of Sarasota, Florida, and Maxine Wyatt of Waynesville; grandsons, Andy Mack and Bryan Thomas Mack; and one great-granddaughter, Allie Mack. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Dean, Randy, and Andy Mack, Earl Rich, Dewayne McGaha, and Hunter Hopper. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
