Hazel Parker

Canton-Hazel Parker, age 87, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Lon and Blane Reece Rogers and wife of the late Willie Frank Parker, who died in July, 1996. She is also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Parker who died in 2006; five sisters and three brothers. She was the oldest member of Burnette Siding Baptist Church and loved working outside in her garden and being "Mamaw" to her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Blaine Parker and his wife, Linda of Canton and Rhena Parker and his wife, Mary of Jeddo, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Linda Mae Parker of Canton; eight grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, Jeff, Jerry, Tony Parker and Jennifer Miller, Pamela Breedlove and Shannon Trantham, thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Anthony Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Sunburst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, and at other times, at the residence. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Parker, Jeremy Parker, Jeff Parker, Jerry Parker, Tony Parker and Denny Trantham. Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
