Hazel Singleton

June 22, 1934 — January 28, 2010

Waynesville, Hazel Berlyn Singleton died on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Elihu "Baz" and Ada Elizabeth Shepard Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Bruce Singleton; a brother, George Watson; and two sisters, Hilda Trull and Geneva Pressley. Berlyn was an active member of her church, Clyde Freewill Baptist, and she was very devoted to all her family. She is survived by one son, Alan Singleton and his wife, Patti, of Fair Play, SC; one daughter, Vicky Parker, of Waynesville; two brothers, John Howard Watson and his wife, Della, and James Carroll Watson, all of Canton; four grandchildren, Jason Singleton, Marc Trull, Wendy Trull and her husband, Shane, and Jessica Singleton Bridges and her husband, Jamie; and one great granddaughter, Reagan Trull. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Preacher Elisha Fish officiating. Burial will be at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Canton Christian Convalescent Center for their loving care. Memorials may be made to Haywood County Rescue Squad, P.O.
