Hazel Stamey

Canton - Hazel Ball Stamey, age 80, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the Brian Center of Waynesville. She was a native Swain County and the daughter of the late Os and Hattie Jenkins Ball. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Jolley and JoAnn Burrell. She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Mease of Canton, Patsy Burnette and her husband, Charles of Canton and Linda Wood of Hilton Head, SC; a son, Michael E. Stamey and his wife, Renee of Waynesville; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Hastings and Margaret Medford; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ed Lowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
