Hazel Taylor

Clyde, Hazel Christine Price Taylor, age 71, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James and Minda McElrath Price. Hazel attended Fines Creek School where she played on the basketball team. She was employed as an LPN for forty years and enjoyed baking, fishing, playing bingo, gardening, quilting, and collecting baskets. She also enjoyed riding through National Parks and attending high school sporting events with her husband. Hazel is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert E. Taylor; two daughters, Vickie Taylor of Canton and Susan Conger (Kendall) of Raleigh; two sons, Michael Kirkpatrick (Sonia) of the Fines Creek Community and Fred Taylor (Denise) of Hendersonville; a sister, Helen Clampett of Waynesville; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time at the Wells Events and Reception Center.
