Hazel Wright

Canton, Hazel Lee Gossett Wright, age 88, of Queentown Road, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Mary Rhodarmer Gossett. Hazel was affectionately known as "Dink" and will be remembered for being a very kind and loving person who always placed others needs before her own. She enjoyed camping and her favorite place to enjoy the beauty of the North Carolina mountains was Mount Pisgah Campground off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hazel was loved by all who knew her. Dink is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bill Wright, and cousins, Jane Thompson, Johnny Rhodarmer, Scotty Rhodarmer, Leila Rhodarmer and several other extended cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Morning Star United Methodist Church with Reverend Nicole Jones and Reverend Doug Love officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Steve & Phyllis Sorrells, 1166 Love Joy Road, Canton, NC 28716. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
