Candler, Heather Elizabeth Barrineau Reid, age 30, of Candler, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Duke University Hospital. She was a native of and lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of Janet Kimball Camlin and her husband, Wally, of Waynesville and the late Kyle Barrineau. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, George M. Kimball. She graduated from Denver University with a BA in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. She was employed by Waynesville County Club as Food and Beverage Director. She was member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother and stepfather, she is survived by her husband, James T. Reid; four-month old daughter, Kylie Michelle Reid; one sister, Kimberly Newell of San Francisco, CA; one brother, Ryan Newell and his wife, Shannon, of Waynesville; one half brother, Kyle Barrineau, Jr. of CA; one niece, Jordyn Newell; maternal grandmother, Christine Kimball, of Asheville; and members of her husband's family who were like her own, Robert and Angie Reid; Kristina and Steve Price, Mike Reid and Family, Steve Reid, and Norbert Schwark. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2008 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells, Reverend Hardy Tippett, and Reverend Kathy Wilson officiating. A reception will follow the service at 3:00 p.m. in the church narthex. In lieu of flowers, the family would like individuals to donate blood in her memory. An American Red Cross blood drive will be held on August 15, 2008 at the Waynesville County Club.
