Helen Clubb

Helen Gant Clubb, age 89, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Mattie Leona Humphreys Gant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Clubb, who died in 1972; seven sisters, and three brothers. Helen was fond of crocheting and had a good walk with God. She was a member of Mountain View Church of God. She loved word puzzles and playing Bingo at Silver Bluff where she was one of the most winning residents. Helen was and will be very loved and missed by those who knew her. She is survived by one sister, Ruby Ashe of Canton; one brother, Theodore Gant and his wife, Martha, of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Herman Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mountain View Church of God, P.O. Box 553, Canton, NC 28716.
