Waynesville, Helen Ferguson Davis, 90, entered into her gloriously heavenly home on October 8, 2023, surrounded by her family.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ida McElroy Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, John, Charles, and Carlyle Ferguson: five sisters, Margaret Williams, Sarah Greene, Betty Moody, Bennie Underwood, Ruth Presnell and Annette Best.
Helen graduated from Blantons Business College. She retired as the Haywood County Register of Deeds in 1994.
Helen was a humble and gentle woman who loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. Her salvation, faith and service for the Lord was first place in her life. Helen was a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church.
Helen enjoyed gardening, canning and cooked the most amazing meals for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and mamaw. Her family brought her the greatest of joy.
Helen is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lawrence. A son, Larry Davis; A daughter Terri Davis. Her grandson, Powell Davis, granddaughter, Ivie Greene (Justin) and her great grandson Rylee Greene. Two sisters, Irene Noland (Joe) and Maxine Bradshaw (Jim); sisters-in-law, Claudia and Marie Ferguson. And a special friend, Lane Hambrick.
The family would like to thank Hazelwood Family Medicine, Care Angels, Four Seasons Hospice, and her incredible granddaughter Ivie for their wonderful care.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery with the Reverend Doug Brown officiating.
