Helen Garren

Clyde – Helen Lucille Young Garren, 85, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at her residence.

Helen was a daughter of the late Samuel Burgin Young and Sarah Jane Hall Young and a native of Buncombe County.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll Garren, who died in 2013.  Helen was member of Clyde Wesleyan Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, word search puzzles and traveling.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Garren Settle (Vince) of Clyde and Lisa Garren (Nicole Mayer) of Holland, Michigan; one brother, George Young of Clyde; two grandchildren, Josh Settle (Jennifer) and Julia Holland; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Acacia, Meagan, Jaedon, Emily, Gracie and Madison; seven great-great-grandchildren two favorite nephews, Mack Young and Sam Barnes (Debra).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Clayton officiating.  Entombment will follow at The Horizon/Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
