Helen Jones

Leicester-Helen Spain Jones, age 78 of 117 Hookers Gap Road, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at her residence.

She was a native of Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Harry and Mae Stamey Spain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Broadway Jones in 1983. Mrs. Jones was a 1943 graduate of Canton High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Pinnacle View Baptist Church. She was a loving mother of her family and she loved cooking, flower gardening and sewing.

She is survived by four sons, Melvin Jones and his wife B. J. of Hendersonville, Max Jones and his wife Becky, Michael and Morris Jones, all of Leicester, one sister, Dorothy Spain Hoyle of Jacksonville, FL, one brother, Harry Willard Spain, Jr. of Pearland, TX, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Memorials may be to Pinnacle View Baptist Church.
