Helen Rogers

Helen Catherine Rogers, age 92, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Beverly Healthcare of Hendersonville. She was a native of Clyde and the daughter of the late George and Hattie Fish Rogers. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Grady, Earnest, Hugh Rogers and one sister, Hilda Steelman. She was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church. She received her teaching degree from University of Tennessee. She taught primarily in the western states of the United States, and spent most of her time teaching on government reservations. She is survived by three nephews, Gene Rogers, McLain Rogers and Earl Rogers and his wife, Ruby all of Clyde; a niece, Martha Bradbury of Clyde and a brother-in-law, Robert Steelman of Clyde. A graveside memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at Haynes Family Cemetery with the Reverend Randy Tingle officiating. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
