Clyde-Helen M. Romley, age 91, died on May 7, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of the late James and Frances MacNamara Leonard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Romley, who died in 1979; a brother, James Leonard; a sister, Rita Reagan. She was a postgraduate of Hunter College where she studied Italian physiology and literature. She was a nurse and a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church. She loved history and children. She was an artist and enjoyed sculpting, sewing, reading, and traveling. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Padovani, of Clyde; a grandson, Stephen Padovani and his wife, Laura, of Pennsylvania and their children, Nicholas, Kimberly, and Joseph; a granddaughter, Simonetta Gerbitz and her husband, John, of New York and their son, Dylan. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial/Honor Program, P.O.
