Helen Waldron

August 13, 1937 — May 8, 2009

Waynesville, Helen Owens Waldron, age 71, died Friday, May 8, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late James and Ollie Pearl Phillips Owens. She was a member of Cove Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Helen loved working in her flowers and also loved her dogs, Maltese Ozzie and Pekinese Sonny and her cats. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Fred Waldron and three sisters; Beulah Davis, Rachel Long and Shirley Owens, all of Waynesville; nieces, Debbie Wood, Becky Price and Lisa Chambers; nephews, Michael Davis, Brian Davis and David Long. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Cove Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Owens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian and Michael Davis, Ofellio Price, Jimmy and Tommy Owens, Troy Phillips and Bryan Chambers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
