Helyn Dozier

Waynesville, Helyn Hodges Dozier, age 89, died on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. A native of Headland, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Gillespie and Anna Holland Hodges. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Graham Dozier, who died in 2001. She was a high school biology teacher as well as a florist for many years and was involved with the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one son, Graham Dozier, Jr. of Raleigh, two daughters, Nauma Blum of Atlanta and Wilma Dozier of Waynesville, three grandchildren, Ashley and Chris Dozier of Raleigh, and Anna Eason of Waynesville, and three great grandchildren, Parris Kerr of Raleigh and Taylor and Mollie Eason of Waynesville. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC. Her Waynesville family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, July 1st at VIN, 20 Church Street, Waynesville from 7:00-9:00 pm.
