Hilda Murton Devlin

Waynesville – Hilda Kathleen Murton Devlin, 95, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Hilda was a native of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk England and a daughter of the late Robert George and Bessie Stocking Murton. In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carrol Eugene Devlin, who passed in 2017; her son, Danny Devlin; two brothers, Reggie and Bob; and three sisters, Beryl, Winnie, and Doris. 

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Bumgardner, and her husband, Max, of Canton, Georgia; daughter in law, Tonya Devlin, of Aurora, Colorado; four grandchildren, Eric Bumgardner (Melissa), Blair Bumgardner (Michelle), Greg Bumgardner (Lauren), and Courtney Capps (Heath); and ten great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date and announced by Wells Funeral Homes.
