Hilda Grooms

Waynesville-Hilda Summey Grooms-66, of 130 Cindy Lane, died Monday, December 09, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Lowell and Bernice Rathbone Summey and was the wife of the late Clifford Darrell Grooms who died in 1984. Mrs. Grooms was also preceded in death by a sister, Cora Lee Lunsford and a brother, Lowell Charles Summey, II. She retired from Chestnut Park Rest Home #1as a dietary supervisor.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Sharpe and her husband Darrell, Lisa Fowler and her husband Keith and Dana Grooms, all of Canton, two sons, William Summey of Canton, Billy Grooms and his wife Tonya of Waynesville, one brother, George Everette Summey of Waynesville, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.At other times, the family will be at the residence.
