Hilda Morgan

Waynesville, Hilda Brown Morgan, 82, of Hemphill Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Maggie Valley Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late R. Boone and Cora Carver Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard "Billy" E. Morgan, who died in 1994; a son, Michael Morgan; two brothers, Lloyd and Robert Hugh Brown; and one sister, Lucille McCord. Hilda loved spending time with her family and was a member of Hemphill Baptist Church. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and digging for ginseng. She is survived by children, Diane Davis and Tony Morgan, of Waynesville; three sisters, Reba Rhodarmer and Phyllis McClure and husband, Mike, of Waynesville and Wilma Smith and husband, Joe, of Clyde; grandchildren, Joshua Morgan and Dakota Davis; great-grandchild, Aidan Sasser; an aunt, Nellie Cagle, of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jake Cagle and Reverend Bobby Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. A special thanks to the staff of Maggie Valley Nursing Home.
