Hilda Wilde

Waynesville, NC-Hilda Louise Arrington Wilde, age 66, received victory in Jesus when she lost her battle to ALS on Saturday, February 11, 2006. Hilda was raised in Panther Creek, NC and lived in Newport News, VA from 1958 to 1972. She resided in Winston-Salem, NC for 33 years until September 2005 where she was a resident of Valley Health Care in Chilhowie, VA. She enjoyed cooking and decorating and her hospitality, warmth, and sense of humor and love were cherished by all. She was a member of Marketplace Ministries of Winston-Salem, NC. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ will be a legacy of inspiration and a testimony to all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Archie C. Wilde; her father, Glen Fincher; and brothers, James and Wayne Fincher. She is survived by her mother, Eva Arrington Gunter of Canton, NC;a daughter, Beverly Asbell, of Bristol, VA; a granddaughter, Crystal Ridge and her husband, David; a great granddaughter, Laurelyn Grace Ridge, of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Freida Sellards of Bristol, VA and Wilda Wrenn of Greenville, TN, five brothers, Ken Rector of Waynesville, NC, Jerry Rector of Bristol, VA, Brian Rector of Evington, VA, Leon Fincher of Rapidan, VA and Rich Fincher of White Pine, TN. She was also blessed with many precious nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Capps and Reverend James Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
