Hiram Green

Waynesville-Hiram Leonard Green, age 80, of 214 Log Cabin Road, died on Tuesday, October 03, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and life long resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Joe H. and Emmaline Wyatt Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph Verlin, Arvil, Homer, Vestal, and David Green and one sister, Bessie Styles. Leonard was employed by Barbers Orchard as a tree trimmer and retired in 1982 after 43 years employment. He was a member of Rocky Branch Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jo Cutshaw Green; a son, Terry Leonard Green and his wife, Iva, of Clyde; two daughters, Kathy Jo Price and Sharon J. Trantham, both of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Joseph Trantham and his wife, Marie, and Emily Trantham; and special friends, George and Betty Messer of Clyde and Bruce Wayne Laws, Sr. of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Denny Crowe, Reverend Harry Worley, and Reverend Ernest Messer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Family Cemetery.
