Hobert Williams

June 20, 1921 — July 4, 2003

Hazelwood-Hobert Grant Williams, age 82, of 1266 Brown Avenue, died Friday, July 4, 2003 at his home. He was a native of La Follette, TN and was the son of the late Walter and Annie Mae Seale Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Tittle Williams, who died in 1997 and by a sister and a brother.

He worked for A.C. Lawrence for 30 years until their closure and then became an insurance agent for many years. He was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church where he served as trustee, deacon, and usher. He was also a member of Lake Junaluska Golf Club, Hazelwood Boosters, and a former Hazelwood Alderman.

He is survived by his daughters, Peggie Tyler of Hazelwood and Geraldine Williams of Jacksonville, FL; and by a granddaughter, Christy Wells.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003 at Hazelwood Baptist Church with the Reverend Don Letzring officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The deacons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville. At other times the family will be at the home.
