Waynesville, Homer R. Noland, age 71, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the son of the late Ben and Susie Ferguson Noland. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Clement; five brothers, Charles, Howard, Jack, Jerry Lynn and Van Noland. Homer was self-employed and was the former owner of Junaluska Texaco and Homer's Zone 3 Night Club. He worked at Junaluska Driving Range until his illness. He is survived by three sons, Randy Noland (Bobbee) of Clyde, Brian Noland (Stephanie) of Canton and Matthew Mollo of North Augusta, SC; five sisters, Bennie Mae Lance (Ronnie) of Waynesville, Judy Noland of Waynesville, Linda Rathbone (Larry) of Clyde, Laurie Cagle (Kerwin) of Waynesville, Mary Helen Clement of Waynesville; four brothers, Walter Noland (DeAnn) of Clarksville, GA, Jeff Noland (Kim) of Clyde, John Noland (Mary Ann) of Milton, Indiana, Ben Noland, Jr. of Asheville and two grandchildren, Brittany and Luke Noland. Randy and Bobbee are expecting his third grandchild, a daughter, in November. A memorial service will be arranged and announced at a later date.
