Howard Ronald Hall, the master builder and furniture maker died Saturday after a short illness. He had just celebrated his 94th birthday. At Haywood Community College, he laid-out and built the saw mill and forestry complex with John Crites. He supervised the next set of buildings on the grounds. He still enjoyed associating with the forestry students on campus. At 92, he shipped 52 pieces of custom made furniture. His wood, his shop, and his land were his life. He loved to garden. He traveled with the building teams of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church as a supervisor. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Clyde Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Anna Jean, and two adoring sons, Ronald D. and William Kelly. At his request, no services are planned. A memorial service will be scheduled later this summer.
