Howard Huffman

Howard Willis Huffman, age 91, of Huffman Road, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Robert P. and Mary Anna Hallman Huffman. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Ruby Davis Huffman in 1998. Mr. Huffman was a WWII United States Army Veteran serving in the European Theater. He was a retired employee of Champion International and a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church. He is survived by a sister, Betty Moore of Texas and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde with graveside military honors conducted by the United States Army, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
