Hoye Eugene Taylor, a devoted caretaker of nature and nurturing spirit, passed away on January 29, 2025 at the age of 82, in Asheville, NC, where he was born on January 6, 1943. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and generosity that touched the lives of many.

Hoye dedicated much of his professional life to yard care and landscaping, where his passion for working outdoors blossomed into a cherished career. He found joy in tending to gardens, always with the hope of creating beauty in the world around him. His love for the outdoors extended beyond his work; Hoye was happiest when surrounded by nature, cultivating his own garden and soaking up the serenity it provided.

Known for his unwavering kindness, Hoye lived to help others. His compassionate nature made him a beloved figure among family, friends, and the community. Hoye's commitment to lending a hand and spreading love highlighted his remarkable personality, which endeared him to everyone he met.

Hoye was active in Luther Pentecostal Church, where he found solace and connection within his faith. He enjoyed attending services and participating in church activities, embodying the values of service and camaraderie that were central to his beliefs.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Louise Birchfield of Canton and Ann Watson (George) of Candler, along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will all carry fond memories of him.

Hoye was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Merline Cobb Taylor, who passed away in 2019. He also mourned the loss of his parents, Howard and Clora Taylor, and his brother, George Taylor.

A memorial service to honor the life and legacy of Mr. Taylor will be announced at a later date.

As we remember Hoye Eugene Taylor, we celebrate his life—a life dedicated to growth, generosity, and love for all. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he lovingly touched and in the beauty of nature he nurtured throughout his years. 

Hoye was loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.

The care of Mr. Taylor has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
