Hugh Pless

Hugh Junior Pless, age 65, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James Pless and Hattie Huffman Pless. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford Williams, Elmer Sanford, and Bobby Pless; and a sister, Julie Easterwood. He was a self-employed plumber. Hugh was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Hugh was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lynda Pless; three sons, Johnny Pless and his wife, Kristy, Mark Pless and his wife, Becky, and Kerry Pless and his wife, Kristie, all of Canton; a daughter, Helen McLeod and her husband, Will, of Waynesville; a brother, Reverend Willard Pless and his wife, Pat, of Vernon, AL; eight grandchildren, Jonathon Jones, Brandon Pless, Jared Pless, Gage Pless, Cory Pless, John Paul Pless, Amanda McLeod, and Natalie Pless; and a special friend, his quaker parrot, Sunshine. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Crestview Baptist Church with the Reverend Milton Hollifield and Reverend Dan Page officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
