Hugh Russell

Texarkana-Hugh Thomas "Tommy" Russell, Jr., age 71, formerly of Clyde, died on Saturday, July 14, 2007 in Texarkana. A native of Haywood County, he had lived in Ashdown Arkansas area for the past 40 years. He was the son of the late Hugh Thomas and Annie Carnes Russell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sally Louise Russell. He was employed by Berlin-Jones Paper Mill in Ashdown, Arkansas and retired in 1998. He loved children, enjoyed trading on E-bay, traveling, and taking photos of waterfalls. He was a member of the Gospel Jubilee Church. He is survived by five daughters, Lurissia Hendrix and her husband, Terry, Cherie Buchanan and her husband, David, and Amy Presnell, all of Waynesville, and Letitia and Paula Russell, both of Florida; one son, Derek Russell and his wife, René, of Tennessee; one sister, Mildred Mease, of Canton; one brother, Vernon Russell and his wife, Katie, of Clyde; 16 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Terrell officiating. Interment will follow at Fulbright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to services. Serving as pallbearers will be George and Harold Medford, Jim Rogers, Robert Chafin, John Francoeur, and Frank Chambers. Memorials may be made to the Gospel Jubilee Church, P.O.
