Ira Dankworth

"1919 – 2016" Canton – Kitty Dankworth, 97, of Alameda, California, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home in Canton, NC. She was the daughter of the late John Clark and Effie Willis Jackson and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Edwin George Dankworth, who died in 2007. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Dankworth Eddy of Whidbey Island, Washington and Jane Dankworth Lesesne and her husband, Dr. Edward H. Lesesne, of Canton, NC. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her grandchildren, Scott Eddy and his wife, Angela, and two children, Michaela and Joshua, of Pensacola, Florida; Piper Lesesne Trelstad and her husband, Brian, and two daughters, Cady and Emily, of Lambertville, NJ; Brett Eddy and his wife, Linna, and their 4 children, Patrick, Brendan, Madison and Caedon, of Poulsbo, Washington; Sydney Lesesne Heasley and her husband, Cres, and two sons, Sammy and Edwin, of Dallas, Texas. The family would like to thank the staff of Silver Bluff for the incredibly kind and gentle care they gave Kitty during the last three years of her life. A memorial service in honor of Kitty's remarkable life will be held at a later date. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
