Waynesville- Irene V. Beasley, age 85, of the Ironduff community, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora Freeman Inman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Graham Robert Beasley; two daughters, Catherine Smith and Carolyn Dee Sutton; two sons, Kenneth Robert Beasley and Kalbert Roy Beasley and two grandchildren, Donna Kay Smith and Junior Smith. Irene was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and had a special love for her cats. She also was very devoted to her family. She is survived by five grandchildren, Debbie Rathbone, Jerry David Smith both of Waynesville, Betty Gail Beasley, Dean Beasley of Virginia, Brandon Sutton and his wife, Chanda of Waynesville; seven great-grandchildren, Chris Rathbone, Jimmy Jenkins, Angela Smith, Jerri Smith, Dylan Riddle, Carlee Sutton and Payden Sutton; three great-great-grandchildren, Caleb Rathbone and Austin and Chase Jenkins and a son-in-law Jess Sutton, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in the chapel at Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Simpson and Reverend Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and at other times, at the home.
