Irene Gosnell

Irene Stiles Gosnell, age 82, formerly of Summer Street died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Oaks at Sweeten Creek. She was a native of Jackson County and had resided in Haywood County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Maggie Morris Stiles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. Gosnell who died in 1997 and three sisters, Pearl Shuffler, Burdell Caldwell and Lorena Stiles. She was a homemaker and a member of Phillipsville Church of God of Prophecy. She participated in Senior Olympics. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved being outdoors. She is survived by two daughters Barbara Gosnell Lowe and her husband, Bosco of Fletcher and Jackie Gosnell Holloman of Jupiter, FL; three sisters, Minnie Bolden of Danridge, TN, Etta Louise Reid of Sylva and Martha Sorrells of San Diego, CA; a brother, Bill Stiles of Bessemer City, NC; a grandson Barry Bruce Lowe; three great-grandchildren, Barrett Bruce Lowe, Jaycie Spooner and Baillie Hunter Lowe. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Reverend Dr. Henry B. Grimes, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O.
