Irene Hone

April 19, 1929 — August 6, 2004

Clyde-Irene Primrose Rayner Hone, age 75, of Pleasure Lane, died Friday, August 06, 2004 at her residence. Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence Springett Rayner. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard S. Thompson. She had resided in Naples, Florida and had lived in Haywood County for the last four years. She was owner/operator of Irene's Apparel in Naples, Florida and Cashier, NC for 30 years. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and quilting. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dennis Hone; three daughters, Rita Thompson, Linda Landry and her husband, Ronald, and Karan Houghton and her husband, Wesley, all of Naples, Florida; two sisters, Lillian Lyons and Jean Cribb of Wilmington, Delaware; a brother, Edward Rayner, of Wilmington, Delaware; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie, Clayton, Brandon, Alaina, Whitnie, Chenll, Trenton, Kristopher, Kyle, Jennifer, Kasey, and Vanessa; and 2 great grandchildren, Kensley and Karson. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The Reverend Kitty Crain will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services, at the church. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
