Irene O'Neil

Bethel-Irene Gregg O'Neil, age 82, of the Bethel Community, died Monday, January 3, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Robert Allen and Bessie Fox Gregg. She was the wife of the late Allen O'Neil who died in 1968. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Cathy O'Neil Reeves, 5 brothers and one sister. She retired from Dayco after 33 years of service. She is survived by two sons Dexter O'Neil and his wife Jo of Bethel and Terry O'Neil of Canton, one sister Ocie "Baby" Greene of Canton, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Reverend T. M. Gibson and Reverend Matt Pruett will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
