Irma Martin

Waynesville, NC-Irma Jean Lairsey Martin, age 67, of 236 Martha Way, died on Monday, June 26, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Palm Beach County, Florida, and had resided in Haywood County for the past 11 years, moving here from Ft. Myers, FL. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Ida Lou Butler Lairsey. She enjoyed reading and was a member of New Covenant Church. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Raymond G. Martin; three sons, Steven Ray Martin and wife, Georgia, of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kevin Martin of Seneca, SC, and Keith Martin and wife, Andrea, of Chancellor, AL; one brother, Ronald E. Lairsey, of Canal Point, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and dearest friend, Ina Willis. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at New Covenant Church with her sons, Steven Martin and Reverend Keith Martin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
