Isabella Redmond

Waynesville-Isabella Noland Redmond, age 85, of 46 Mead Street, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Autumn Care Nursing Home.

She was a native of Haywood County, growing up in the Fines Creek Community. She was the daughter of the late Wiley B. and Cora Rogers Noland. She married her childhood sweetheart, James Jackson ''Jack'' Redmond to whom she was married for 55 years, until his death in 1990. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jake R. Redmond; two sisters, Ruby Leatherwood and Mildred Ross; three brothers, Ruel, Lyle, and Gerald Noland; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Sue Breece, of Waynesville and Mary Ann Goerig, and her husband, Jerry of Asheville; two sons, Jobie G. Redmond and his wife Susie, of Greensboro, and James D. Redmond and his wife Diane, of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Katherine Noland Hyatt of Waynesville; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

With love and fond memories we bid our mother, sister, grandmother, and friend farewell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, of which she was a member. The Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells will officiate. Burial will be at the Redmond Cemetery in Fines Creek. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

The grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
