Ivey Joines

Clyde-Ivey Kenneth Joines, age 70, of Forsythia Lane, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Lenoir, NC and was the son of the late Alonzo M. and Nora M. Dula Joines. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Gail Joines, who died in 1971.

He retired as a crane operator with the Santa Fe Railroad Transportation Company after 20 years of service. He was a US Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #70 and #315. He was an old car enthusiast and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Joines, of Hayward, CA; one sister, Mary Long, of Monroe, NC; and two brothers, James Joines, of Lenoir, NC and John Joines, of Climax, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Reverend J. D. Grant will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the services, at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the WaynesvilleVFW Post 5202 and the American Legion Post 47. Burial will be at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, California.
