Waynesville, Jack Brown, age 67, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Issac and Dora Fish Brown. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 11 brothers and two sisters. He was a retired farmer. Jack was known for standing on the streets of Clyde watching people and cars go by. He always looked forward to having coffee with his brothers, Frank and Hobart each day at the Pioneer restaurant. He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Esther "Patsy" Wells; three sisters, Isabell James of Hickory, Betty Jo Hannah of Canton and Elsie Rathbone of Lincolnton, NC and a brother, Sam Brown of Waynesville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Nelson and Reverend Jimmy Trantham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
