Jack Hoglen

Jack J Hoglen, 75, of Candler, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Mission Hospitals. He was a son of the late Hallie Stiles and Everett Hoglen and was also preceded in death by six brothers.

Mr. Hoglen retired from the US Marine Corps as Gunnery Sergeant after serving 20 years and also retired from the NCDOT after 15 years of service. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and also served as a guardian for children in the Guardian Ad Litem Program with the state of NC.

Survivors include his two daughters, Deborah Hoglen Allum of CA, Sandra Hoglen Moss of MD, brother, Gene Hoglen of SC, grandson, Hunter Fontana of CA and long-time friend and caregiver, Peggy Hoglen.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Cole officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors.
