Clyde-Jack E. Lambert, age 78, died Monday, May 31, 2004 at Asheville Specialty Hospital. He was born December 2, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, married and raised his family in South Florida and moved to Clyde nine years ago. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Alpha Sigma Lambda National Fraternity, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Association of Tax Practitioners. He retired from Western Electric Company, an AT&T affiliate, in 1981. He served in World War II in the US Air Corps and Korea in the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey; daughters, Pam Quinn of Lake Junaluska and Pat Malcolm of Asheville; sons, Paul Lambert and Karen of Oklahoma and Philip Lambert and Cindy of Edmonds Washington; five grandchildren, Jon and Paul Lambert, Emily Murnen and Thomas and Nolan Quinn; one great granddaughter, Mia Quinn; and a sister, Mary Carpenter from Manassas, Virginia. A family memorial service will be held at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
