Jack Long

May 26, 1944 — January 16, 2004

Waynesville-Jack Long, age 59, of Saddle Ridge Drive, died Friday, January 16, 2004.

He was a native and life long resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Elsie Sutton Long.

He was a farmer and rock mason and was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Lesa Chambers and Rebecca Price, both of Waynesville; two sons, David Long of Waynesville and James Ashe of Sevierville, TN; two sisters, Oma Lee Gunter of Waynesville and Annie Allison of Hot Springs; three brothers, Robert and Junior Long, both of Newport, TN, and Claude Long of Waynesville; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 at the Cove Creek Baptist Church. The Reverends Billy Ferguson and Jerry Nelson will officiate. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the services, at the church.

The pallbearers will be Richard Gaddis, Bryan Chambers, Steve and Tony Long, Keith and Owen Shetley.

Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
