Jack Reeves

Canton – Jack Daniel Reeves, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at The Homestead in Clyde. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Lyda McNally and Stella Westmoreland Reeves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Haney Reeves; two brothers, Carl and McNally Reeves; and three sisters, Ruby VanHook, Reva Sayles and Ann Jackson. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict where he earned the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, United Nations Service Medal, CIB, National Defense Service Medal and the O/S Bar. Jack will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic, loyalty to his family and an all-around great person. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by three daughters, Toni Reeves Grubbs and her husband, Mark, of Yadkinville, NC, and Shanna Reeves and Tracee Reeves, both of Canton; his grandson, Tyler Grubbs; and two sisters, Hazel Edmonds and Margie Ferris. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jackie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haywood Health Care Foundation (Hospice in memo line of check), c/o The Homestead, 127 Sunset Ridge, Clyde, NC 28721, or Charles George V. A.
