Jack Rogers

Waynesville, Jack Rogers, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Julius and Annie Ferguson Rogers and was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He retired from Dayco in 1990 with 38-years service. Jack was an avid outdoorsman with a fondness for hunting and fly-fishing. He enjoyed trips to his deer camp in Georgia and also enjoyed playing golf during his younger years. He was a loving husband, father and papaw and will be deeply missed. Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Rogers; two sons, Charlie Rogers and his wife, Tonya, of Canton and Jack A Rogers, Jr. of Waynesville; a grandson, Travis Rogers and his wife, Juli; and three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Tegan and Chappel Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Burress officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
