Jack Scott, Jr.

March 24, 1953 — March 17, 2005

Jack Millard Scott, Jr., age 51, of the Beaverdam Community died unexpectedly Thursday, March 17, 2005 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the Reverend Jack M. Scott, Sr. and Lois Carver Scott of Canton. He was employed by Blue Ridge Papers as an electrician for the past 31 years and was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Jack loved being outdoors with his horses and enjoyed woodcarving. His first love; however, was his wife, family and grandsons. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during Vietnam. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rose Hall Scott; two sons, Phillip Blake Scott and his wife, Lacie and Tracey Dean Parker; a sister, Janet Burke; a brother, Jeffrey Lane Scott all of Canton; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1275, Canton, NC 28716
