Waynesville-Jack Womack Tubb, age 76, of E. Marshall Street, died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Autumn Care.
He was a native of Sewanee, Tennessee and had resided in Haywood County since 1961. He was the son of the late John B. and Ruby Womack Tubb. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gene Conley Tubb, who died in 1995.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee and was a Plant Engineer with Dayco. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, a member of the Asbury sunday school class, United Methodist Men, and Cook Team Leader. He enjoyed fishing at Mexico Beach, FL, and growing grapes to make wine.
He is survived by two daughters, Arie T. Motschman and her husband, Mike of Marietta, Georgia and Lisa Reid and her husband, Bruce of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one sister, Sara King, of Boulder, Colorado; one brother, John L. Tubb of Winchester, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. The Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells, Reverend Horwood P. Myers, Jr., and Reverend John Christy will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home.
The pallbearers will be Reverend John Christy, Bill Schulhofer, Jr., J.C. Jennings, Jack King, Joe Boone, Don Moore, and John Pettigrew. Glenn Boineau will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
