Jack Williamson

Canton- Jack Bryant Williamson- age 77 of Barkn Cove Road died Saturday, August 06, 2005 at his sister's residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Grady and Lois Whitted Williamson. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Rathbone Williamson who died in 1997 and a brother, James Burton Williamson. Mr. Williamson was self-employed as a meat cutter, a member of VFW Post #5198, The American Legion Post #47 and the Disabled American Veterans where he served in several offices. Among many were VFW past post commander and was a life member in both the DAV and VFW. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He is survived by one son, John Williamson and his wife Geneva of Odenton, Maryland; one step-son, Boyd Phillips and is wife Jane; two step-daughters, Bonnie Suttles and Mary Faye Rathbone both of Canton; one sister, Carrie Williamson Long of Canton; a granddaughter, Betsy with several other grandchildren and one great-grandson, Robert with several other great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Mark Golden and Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
