JACKIE ''JACK'' WAY FINNEY
Hendersonville-Jackie ''Jack'' Way Finney, age 52, died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.
A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late J. W. ''Buck'' Finney, Sr. and Evelyn Hill Finney. He served 21 yeas in the US Marine Corp, having served during seven campaigns. He was associated with the Hendersonville American Legion, VFW, and Waynesville Moose Lodge. He was employed by Jerry Cash Imports for seven years as a service advisor. He attended the Hendersonville Church of God. He loved trout fishing and auto racing.
In addition to his step-mother, Nina Finney, he is survived by his wife, Julie Turner Finney; a daughter, Tammy Lee Finney of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, Daniel Alexander Finney of the home and Matthew Way Finney of Stafford, Virginia; two sisters, Betty Jones and her husband, Johnny, of Balsam and Barbara McMullan and her husband, Dave, of Riverside, California; two brothers, J.W. Finney, Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Clyde and Tony Finney of Spruce Pine, NC; two step-sisters, Linda Sutton and Debbie Rabb of Waynesville; and one step-brother, David Rabb of Marietta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Doc R. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home of J. W. Finney, Jr., 668 Big Branch Road, Clyde. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad and David Jones, Steve and Jason Finney, and employees of Jerry Cash Imports.
