James Bass, Jr.

Waynesville, James William Bass, Jr., age 61, 104 Summer Place Drive, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at his residence. A native of Los Angeles County, California, he lived in various areas of California and Arkansas before moving to Titusville, Florida and had resided in Haywood County for the past five years. Jim was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era and retired a Post Master in 1996. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Hoff Bass; two sons, Jonathan Bass and wife, Debbie, of Deland, Florida and Brian Bass and wife, Emily, of Bunnell, Florida; two sisters, Mary Abbott and husband, Scott, of California and Shirley Bemis and husband, David, of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Ricky Bass and wife, Janet, of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Mark Bass and wife, Lisa, of Little Rock, Arkansas; one grandson, Carter Bass; and mother-in-law, Lorraine Hoff, of Casselberry, Florida. No services are scheduled at this time. Jim will be remembered by all that he touched for his gentle heart and his generous nature.
