James Bradshaw

Waynesville, James William Billy Jim Bradshaw, age 83, of Bradshaw Road, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 at MedWest Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he had resided in Pasadena, Texas, before returning to Haywood County in 1984. He was the son of the late Frank Davis and Ada Morrow Bradshaw. He attended North Carolina State University and was a US Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a former employee of American Enka and employed by Champion Papers in Pasadena for 30 years. He also worked for Haywood County Waste Management for 19 years. Mowing grass was his therapy, and he took great pride in the maintenance of Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery and was also a member of the church. He is survived by his wife, Joan Thompson Bradshaw; one son, James H. Bradshaw and his wife, Maxine; a stepdaughter, Juanita Gail Brady and her husband, Don; two sisters, Sybil B. Crawford and her husband, Don, and Helen B. Caldwell and her husband, J.R.; and two brothers, Grover Lee Bradshaw and his wife, Catherine, and Johnny Bradshaw and his wife, Barbara, all of Waynesville. He is also survived by two grandsons, Randall and Rodney Bradshaw, of Houston, Texas; one great grandson, Keaton Bradshaw, also of Houston; and two step granddaughters, Laura and Kathleen Brady, of Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Taylor and Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times the family will be at the residence, 105 Bradshaw Road, Waynesville.
