Lake Junaluska, James Woodrow Brown, age 91, formerly of Edwards Road, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 in Goose Creek, SC. He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late William Joseph Brown and Sally Robinson Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Venia Rhinehart Brown, who died in 2004; one son, Ronnie Brown; three brothers, Walter, Charles and Fred Brown; and three sisters, Pearl Green, Hazel Buckner and Mary McClure. James was a graduate of Clyde High School and retired from Champion International with over 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and was a former member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of Clyde Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. James loved gardening, woodworking, traveling and being with his grandchildren. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Daniels (Bill), Goose Creek, SC; Diana Schwarz (Dan), Hamilton, OH; 4 grandchildren, Gina Austin (Jimmy), Ridgeville, SC; Denny Daniels Colleen), Irmo, SC; Sadie Schwarz, Chapel Hill, NC; Amanda Schwarz, Hamilton, OH and 4 great-grandchildren, Allyson and Kyle Austin, Sydney and Garrett Daniels. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Dr. Chuck Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. Until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Long's Chapel United Methodist Church or Hospice of your choice.
