Fletcher - James "Jim" Robert Campbell, age 88, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at The Laurels of Hendersonville after an extended illness. He was a native of Canada, but had resided in Maggie Valley for over 30 years. He was a son of the late James and Victoria Decker Campbell and was preceded in death by a son, James Clarence Campbell and his wife, Elaine. James was a truck driver and loved to golf. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. James was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II as a paratrooper. He is survived by his wife, Susie Campbell of Fletcher; five daughters, Bonnie Pate of Virginia, Penny, Vicki, and Debie Delaney all of Michigan, and Rose of Kentucky; three sons, Guy Campbell of Michigan, Ricky Campbell of California, and Joe Hyatt of Tennessee; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Scott Campbell officiating.
