Waynesville, James "Jimmy" Cogdill, age, 58, of Pensacola, FL, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Philadelphia PA. Jimmy was a native of Haywood County, but resided in Pensacola, Fl. He was the son of the late Jesse and Francis Fleming Cogdill. Jimmy was employed with Babcock Power as Field Engineer for two and a half years, and had formerly worked for International Paper in Pensacola, Fl, Dayco Rubber Manufacturing and Champion International. Jimmy was a good hard working man, who loved Nascar and a good story. He was a United States Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Page Eckles Cogdill; a stepson, Jason Rockmore, of Orlando, Fl; two daughters, April Allen and her husband, Steve, of Clyde and Bethany Barnwell and her husband, Andrew, of Hendersonville; a stepdaughter, Kelli Watkins and her husband, Tyler, of Pensacola, Fl; two sisters, Mary Alice Nelson, of Waynesville and Lucille Smith and her husband, Mackey, of Williamstown, NJ; two half sisters, Ethel Matney and Agnes Moody both of Waynesville; three brothers, Phil Cogdill and his wife, Doris, of Waynesville, Robert Cogdill and his wife, Mary and Ronnie Nelson and his wife, Lynn all of Canton, five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, many friends and an aunt, Marzell and her husband, Henry Holt of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11451 Alexandria, VA.
